Angels of Action
Angels of Action’s mission is to assist children in Mecosta/Osceola counties who do not have enough food to eat by providing them with weekend meals and snacks throughout the school year. By helping sustain these children, we seek not only to help meet their nutritional needs but also promote their physical, cognitive and social development, and to enhance their overall sense of well-being.

Riley MacKenzie Fund
On a Mission to Help Animals
The Riley MacKenzie Fund was founded to help stray and abandoned animals. We also help animals who lose their homes due to economic reasons, domestic violence, and animals who belonged to senior citizens. We spay and neuter animals. We visit young children with our Therapy Dogs and educate them on the importance of spay and neuter. We also educate these children on the proper care and treatment of animals.

Animal Rescue Coalition
We are Mecosta County’s only animal shelter. ARC is a group of concerned animal lovers that got together in 2011 with the hopes of improving the lives of dogs and cats of Mecosta County.
Our building houses both dogs and cats. We have two out-door exercise areas for dogs. There are two open areas for the cats which provide a more stress-free environment. Our volunteers spend lots of time with each animal to keep them as happy and comfortable as possible so that they will be ready to be adopted.

Special Olympics Michigan Area 5
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are given continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and athletic skill, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
